Utopia
Memory Needs a Place to Linger
Utopia is a book, exhibition and workshop programme that explores our never-ending quest for a perfect life in the towns and cities where we live and work. Our dreams and aspirations are often linked to these places, but they themselves are in a perilous state, struggling to adapt to a changing world. When hope and promise are in short supply, memory needs a place to linger.
The exhibition takes place at the Dunfermline Carnegie Library and Galleries from 08/11/25 to 01/03/26 which is a fully accessible venue and admission is free. Full opening times can be found at www.onfife.com Taking place across all the three main galleries, Utopia features all the work from the book, presented in the exhibition as 14 large scale triptych photographs and also specially designed ‘Urban Wallpaper’ by the textile designer, Astrid Weigel. The wallpaper can be bought direct from Contrado. The work in gallery three features work by young people from Lynburn and Touch Primary schools in Dunfermline made in response to the workshops held during May 2025.
Utopia was supported by the National Lottery through Creative Scotland and OnFife.
